Join us for an engaging and interactive CPD seminar with Dr William Trinh, OAM, OD, as he explores the diagnosis and management of common anterior eye conditions; from everyday eyelid disorders to sight-threatening corneal diseases, including neurotrophic keratitis.

Through practical clinical cases and evidence-based discussion, Dr Trinh will cover the pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, and management of a range of anterior eye conditions. Learn how to distinguish between commonly confused presentations, formulate appropriate management plans, recognise when urgent referral is required, and gain valuable insight into the role of oral prescribing in anterior eye disease.

This seminar is designed to provide practical clinical pearls that you can immediately apply in practice, helping you approach anterior eye diseases with greater confidence and clinical reasoning.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the clinical pathophysiology of common anterior eye diseases and its significance in accurate diagnosis and management.
Differentiate between commonly confused anterior eye conditions, including:
- Chalazion and hordeolum;
- Preseptal cellulitis and orbital cellulitis;
- Canaliculitis and dacryocystitis;
- Shield ulcer and neurotrophic keratitis.
Develop an evidence-based differential diagnosis using key clinical signs and symptoms.
Formulate appropriate, timely, and effective management plans for each condition, including recognising when urgent referral is indicated.

About Dr William Trinh, OAM, OD:

Dr William Trinh is the founder and principal optometrist at Wills Eyecare. He graduated with a Bachelor of Optometry and Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapy from the University of New South Wales before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, USA. During his postgraduate training, he undertook clinical internships at the Boston Veterans Affairs Hospital, Lahey Hospital, and Dorchester Community Health Centre.

Dr Trinh is a Clinical Supervisor and Visiting Lecturer at the UNSW School of Optometry and Vision Science, where he is actively involved in educating the next generation of optometrists. He also serves as Chairman of Australian Health Humanitarian Aid and is the former Vice President of Optometry Australia (NSW/ACT). In recognition of his contributions to eye care, education, and humanitarian service, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
